Why fill in my profile?

Great question!

Our courses and action labs have comments sections as well as having social media style community forums to post in as well. If you've ever been in a Facebook group, dedicated to a certain subject, our community forums are similar except they're right inside your account, not on a separate site.

Your profile image is a way for others to get to know you and see you around on our site, and you'll also choose a username and a display name (in case you choose to keep your actual name private). Usernames are how you get tagged in post and comment replies, and is different from how you sign into your account (which is done with your email address).

If you strongly prefer to keep your own details and image private, then show us something that lets us know your personality in your username and image. (flowers, a favorite pet, etc)
