I'm excited to share with you what one of my sewing business friends is doing!
Bra Builders is a sewing supply company that has been serving the bra making community for many years. Nikki, from sewingmystyle.com, bought the business and is raising funds to move it from Wisconsin to Atlanta.
Her Facebook post about it reads:
"Bra Builders is in the business of all things “pretty” in lingerie supplies for the home sewing community, sewing instructors, designers, film/tv and anyone that needs quality lingerie making materials for their projects.
When Bra Builders sets up in Atlanta we will add teaching space, feed the college intern community with fiber arts education and more. We need your help with our Spring Fundraiser #imabrabuilderatl
We are raising funds to support the move, build out the new space and creating the new platforms and services that will provide for our international customer base.
We are asking 5,000 friends for $10 over the weeks of March and April.
Thanks for your consideration…5,000 donations will meet our goal more than 5,000 donations will exceed our goal
donations over $10 will bless us."
So why am I sharing? We need to keep supporting sewing spaces where folks can come and learn from one another. Moving Bra Builders to Atlanta will provide the greater Atlanta area with a phenomenal resource and there are so many colleges in that area where it will be a fantastic place for folks to intern and learn from one of the more well known names in the bra making community.
🎂🎂People often choose a fundraiser to share on social media to raise funds instead of birthday gifts, so this year, for my birthday, I choose to support this small (sewing) business. 🎂🎂
