Good question. Here are some tips and tricks to finding an alterations specialist if we aren't available.
Look for reviews, ask at the local bridal shops for their recommendations, ask around for word of mouth reputations, ask on social media, and then ask lots of question to test their knowledge.
Keep looking, keep searching, get on a reservation list somewhere and don't put it off.
My goal is to arm you with questions to find out the knowledge and skill level of potential sewists in your hunt for someone to help you. The hardest part about our society being so removed from sewing knowledge as a normal household skill, is that we don't even know the right questions to ask to be sure we won't be taken advantage of!!
