This morning I've been heads down filming content for our newest Action Lab. Instead of doing huge courses that would take up a bunch of time for everyone, I'm focusing in on one skill at a time to keep the instruction short and actionable - because what good is education if it isn't packaged in a way to show you how to take Action?
So what's the current Lab about? It's about rolled hems on formalwear. Lots of folks are able to buy a dress that is *close to fitting right* but generally they come too long for most people. So even if you don't have any other alterations done, you will probably still need a hem (unless you're quite tall). Checkout my messy table!
How did I decide on this for this month's Action Lab? The short answer is I didn't. The lovely members of our site did. It's free to sign up for your own membership. Easiest way to sign up is to sign up for anything - the Vault Lobby, the Email Newsletter, the course request area - they'll all get you in! We use a lot of this site for our brick and mortar store to help clients know what to expect when they hire a sewist, so the course dashboard in the menu is the hub for your membership to the sewing spaces.
I'm so glad you asked.
Inside your portal, you can pop into this space (pictured below) to let me know where you're at with your sewing and what courses you're looking to see featured in the next Action Lab. Think of this space as a place to DM me directly - and I will write back!
I'm also VERY excited to tell you about the changes that have been going on in our platform this week... As you may have noticed, we have community spaces now. They have been in the works since the fall based on some unpleasant experiences that have happened on social media. You can view the public one here or by the dropdown area at the top of any page of this website!
The community feature was released to us on leap day and this week, we have the ability to copy links of the actual posts themselves, so it's easier to share things. (I'm soooooo excited about this!) If you're on our email list, you'll probably start seeing me share more links to this area in the future!
Thanks for stopping by, hope to see you in our community spaces soon!

Kristen sews because clothes don't come shaped like humans and people often think their bodies are the problem, which is a problem.
Skipped to the end? I get it!

Whether you're sewing or hiring a sewist, your clothing will be shaped like your undergarments. Therefore, it is imperative that you learn to buy the right bra. Checkout our post on bra fitting.
