On March 24, 2025, several fellow business owners who are in the bra sewing niche shared this statement on social media:
As a professional sewist who has worked alongside many of the businesses listed in this publication, I feel that it is extremely important to back them in their call for transparency and accountability in this matter. They have put a significant amount of effort into sharing their story at the link below and I encourage you to read the timeline and documentation that went into the creation of this public statement.
As a business, we are having the conversation about money all the time and our bidding process is done in a way to show transparency to each client as to the amount of time it takes for a job and the amount of money we charge for shop time to continue operating. It is absolutely unfathomable to me for a business owner (1) not to know the numbers and (2) to think she can keep her numbers a secret as proprietary information and then not compensate the major key players in this sewing niche. This niche is too small to behave in a way that isn't collaborative, open and honest in dealing with one another. There's such a need for the information we teach that there's room for everyone at the table, so long as they are able to conduct themselves ethically.
